Recap: Sutter Huskies vs. Center Cougars

The Sutter Huskies's game on Wednesday was all tied up 15-15 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 42-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Center. Sutter was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Center apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Sutter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Torrence Harter. Despite the final result, she scored four points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Harter is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reet Bains, who scored seven points along with four steals.

It was another big night for Miessah Sagun, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds for Center. Another player making a difference was Madison Shirley Boudreaux, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds.

Sutter now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Center, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sutter will face off against Bear River at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bear River has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 259 points over their last four matchups. As for Center, they will head out on the road to take on Colfax at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Colfax will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
