Soccer Game Preview: Berkeley vs. Alameda

The Berkeley Yellowjackets will face off against the Alameda Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Berkeley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Alameda will be up against a hot Berkeley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Yellowjackets' defense stepped up to hand Castro Valley a 5-0 shutout on Friday. Mia Sieminski had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Berkeley.

Meanwhile, Alameda's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Piedmont by a score of 1-0. Alameda fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Piedmont since Friday.

Berkeley's win bumped their record up to 14-4-2. As for Alameda, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-9.

Berkeley skirted past Alameda 2-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
