Football Recap: Cloquet Comes Up Short

Cloquet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the North Branch Vikings on the road by a 30-16 margin. While losing is never fun, the Lumberjacks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Vikings are ranked 72nd).

Cloquet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Branch, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cloquet will host Hermantown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lumberjacks will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for North Branch, they will take on Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
