Murrieta Mesa had to settle for second on Thursday, but Noah Jenkins sure wasn't going down easily. La Costa Canyon had no answer to Jenkins as he picked up a sack, made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass. Jenkins has been hot recently, having posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played.

Jenkins and Murrieta Mesa will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Temecula Valley at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
