Soccer Recap: Ironton Takes a Loss

If Ironton was riding high fresh off their 5-1 takedown of Fairland on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fighting Tigers fell 4-2 to the Portsmouth Trojans on Tuesday. Ironton have struggled against Portsmouth recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Nate Sloan wasn't going to let Portsmouth walk away unscathed as he scored both of Ironton's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Ironton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Portsmouth, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Ironton will host Greenup County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portsmouth, they have already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Gallia Academy on the 28th.
