Recap: Steele Canyon Cougars vs. West Hills Wolf Pack

The Steele Canyon Cougars came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 49-45 W over West Hills. That's two games straight that Steele Canyon has won by exactly four points.

Steele Canyon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arianna Sanchez, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Sanchez hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jadie Bowers, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Despite the loss, West Hills still got an impressive performance from Jordan Dillon, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dillon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Zappia, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.

West Hills struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Steele Canyon racked up ten assists.

Steele Canyon pushed their record up to 13-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for West Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Valhalla the next time they take the court. Steele Canyon will host Valhalla at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while West Hills will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
