PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — The fourth and final day of the MaxPreps Holiday Classic is championship day. See championship-game images from iron man David Hood, who has photographed every game since Thursday from the beautiful new gym at Rancho Mirage High School. What a workhorse. Jacob Short scored 25 points, Ayman Farah 12 and Keath Canning 10 as Capistrano Valley (11-5) defeated Thousand Oaks for the Qwixcore Division title of the MaxPreps Holiday Classic. The winners forced 18 turnovers and made just 10 themselves. Matt Hauser had 24 points to lead Thousands Oaks (13-3).

Pleasant Grove (Utah) won its first MaxPreps Holiday Classic title with a 60-54 Gatorade Division win over Great Oak. Tournament MVP Matt Conway had 21 points and 11 rebounds to go along with 18 points from Riley Court for Pleasant Grove (9-1). Great Oak (8-4) was led by Torin Webb (15 points) and Latrelle Franklin (11).

King of Riverside (11-2) had a score to settle but Rancho Cucamonga (12-2) had too much Victor Joseph (23 points) and Daylan Lawrence (19) in a 64-55 IHoop Gear Division title victory. Joseph was voted Division MVP for Rancho Cucamonga (pictured). Chris Lott had 20 points and Maurice Jones 16 for King, which held a 39-29 edge on the boards.

Jackson (Mill Creek, Wash.) became the first non-California team to win the MaxPreps Holiday Classic with a 54-45 win over Capital Christian (Sacramento) in the Invitational Division. Tournament MVP Jason Todd had 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, while Dan Kingma added 18 points for the Timberwolves (6-0). Tyler Jennings led all scorers with 20 points for Capital Christian (14-2) while Michigan-bound D.J. Wilson scored all nine of his points in the fourth quarter, to go with seven blocks.
