Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Corcoran walked away with it. They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging an 88-33 win over the Trona Tornadoes. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Corcoran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Natalie Luna led the charge by putting up six points along with nine assists and seven steals. Luna has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelynn Castillo, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 17 points and five assists.

Corcoran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 7.3 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 12.8.

Corcoran has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points over those games. As for Trona, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Corcoran will be playing in front of their home fans against Farmersville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmersville will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Corcoran surely won't give up without a fight. Trona does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
