Rome is 0-6 against Alexander since August of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wolves will welcome the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, Rome beat Coosa 10-5. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Reese Torimoto, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariyah Thompson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Alexander won against Chapel Hill on Wednesday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over Kennesaw Mountain.
Ebbie Simmons made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Simmons was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Kenzie Townsend was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lulu Berry, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Alexander always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennesaw Mountain only posted an OBP of .381.
Alexander's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Rome, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.
Rome might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Alexander when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
