Soccer Game Preview: Fullerton vs. Calvary Chapel

The Fullerton Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Calvary Chapel Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fullerton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Fullerton's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Westminster. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Lions are ranked 718th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Briselda Tellez and Marley Keller scored both of Fullerton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel's game on Monday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost 3-0 to Garden Grove. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fullerton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those eight contests. As for Calvary Chapel, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11-1.

Fullerton took their win against Calvary Chapel in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fullerton since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
