Soccer Game Preview: Waukee vs. Indianola

The Waukee Warriors will take on the Indianola Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Waukee's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Waukee's offense. They fell just short of Southeast Polk by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Waukee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Southeast Polk are ranked 31st).

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Indianola's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Dallas Center-Grimes by a score of 3-2.

Indianola's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Waukee, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Waukee was able to grind out a solid win over Indianola when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
