Baseball Game Preview: Colquitt County Packers vs. Valdosta Wildcats

The Colquitt County Packers will venture away from home to face off against the Valdosta Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Colquitt County managed to slip by Tift County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Colquitt County came up short against Tift County on Friday, falling 11-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Packers have suffered since February 10th.

Meanwhile, Valdosta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Richmond Hill.

Valdosta's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Colquitt County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Colquitt County skirted past Valdosta 4-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colquitt County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
