Basketball Recap: Wood Wildcats vs. Vacaville Bulldogs

The Wood Wildcats won the last time they faced the Vacaville Bulldogs, and things went their way on Friday too. Wood blew past the Bulldogs 62-34 at home. With that win, Wood brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.

Wood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalia Sanchez out in front who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Sanchez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Sa?nyah Stewart was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Despite the loss, Vacaville still got an impressive performance from Kelsey Collins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Lopez, who scored four points along with ten rebounds.

Wood has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Vacaville, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-13.

Wood will take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Fairfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. As for Vacaville, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Rodriguez is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
