Basketball Recap: Penns Valley Area Rams vs. Somerset Eagles

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Penns Valley Area Rams ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-62 win over Somerset. The victory was familiar territory for Penns Valley Area who now have four in a row.

Penns Valley Area's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ellie Romig led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five rebounds. Lilly Smith was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Despite the loss, Somerset still got an impressive performance from Eve Housley, who almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 50% of Somerset's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Penns Valley Area is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Somerset, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Forest Hills is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
