Basketball Recap: Pacifica Christian's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Pacifica Christian needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Vivian Villagrana. The Pacifica Christian Tritons pulled ahead with a 54-53 photo finish over the Oak Hills Bulldogs on Monday thanks in part to Villagrana, who went 11 of 18 on her way to 36 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Pacifica Christian's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Caylie Villagrana, who posted nine points and six assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in November of 2024.

Pacifica Christian's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Oak Hills, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-11 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pacifica Christian will head out to take on Avalon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Hills, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hesperia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hesperia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
