Soccer Game Preview: Fillmore vs. Birmingham

The Fillmore Flashes and the Birmingham Patriots will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fillmore will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

If Fillmore beats Birmingham with four goals on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Flashes were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Nordhoff on Friday.

Meanwhile, Birmingham kept a clean sheet against Marshall on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Barristers, sneaking past 1-0. Given Birmingham's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Marshall are ranked 488th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fillmore's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Birmingham, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
