Soccer Game Preview: San Dimas vs. Valley View

The San Dimas Saints will be taking part in a tournament against the Valley View Eagles at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

San Dimas' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They ended the year with a bang, routing King 3-0. The win was all the more spectacular given the Saints' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Wolves are ranked 148th).

Meanwhile, Valley View put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over Vista del Lago. Give the Eagles' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Valley View's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those five contests. As for San Dimas, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
