Volleyball Recap: Pearland's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Alvin on Friday, Pearland came back down to earth. The Oilers fell 3-1 to the Manvel Mavericks on Tuesday. The Oilers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Pearland started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.

Britney Solomon paced Pearland's offense, picking up 17 kills. Solomon got some help from Brelynn Wolford and her 34 assists. Solomon also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Julia Reyes, each putting up two.

Pearland's defeat dropped their record down to 20-18. As for Manvel, their record is now 25-10.

Coming up, Pearland will be playing in front of their home fans against Dawson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Oilers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Manvel, they will head out to face off against South Houston at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
