Basketball Recap: California Comes Up Short

California lost against Santa Fe on January 8th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The California Condors took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Fe Chiefs.

Santa Fe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Roxy Beltran led the charge by putting up 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Beltran is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Rivera, who posted 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

California's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Santa Fe, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

California will take on El Rancho at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santa Fe, they will face off against Whittier at 5:15 p.m. on January 31st.
