Basketball Game Preview: Patriot Warriors vs. Edison Chargers

The Patriot Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Edison Chargers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Edison took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Patriot, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Patriot was fully in charge, breezing past Rubidoux 56-17. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Edison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 51-25 to Corona del Mar. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 999th, while the Sea Kings are ranked 187th).

Patriot pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.2 points per game. As for Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-17.

Patriot might still be hurting after the 61-35 loss they got from Edison when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Patriot avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
