Basketball Recap: Dos Palos Takes a Loss

Dos Palos lost against Torres back in November of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dos Palos Broncos had to suffer through a 60-17 loss at the hands of the Torres Toros. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 972nd, while the Toros are ranked 200th).

Despite the loss, Dos Palos had strong showings from Athena Correa, who posted six points, and Brionte Neal, who put up five points.

Dos Palos' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Torres, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Dos Palos didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-25 win against Minarets on the 14th. As for Torres, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on McLane at 6:30 p.m. on December 27th. Torres has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
