Basketball Recap: Classical Academy Caimans vs. Escondido Charter Tigers
Classical Academy was the 53-40 winner over Escondido Charter when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Classical Academy Caimans were beaten by the Escondido Charter Tigers 54-27 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Caimans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 822nd, while the Tigers are ranked 368th).
Kami Gillis was a one-woman wrecking crew for Escondido Charter as she posted 19 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. What's more, Gillis also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Faith Grayson was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
