Shelby-Rising City hadn't done well against Meridian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Huskies had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 2-1. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Hayden Hopwood paced Shelby-Rising City's offense, picking up 16 kills. Hopwood got some help from Madison Augustin and her 28 assists. Hopwood was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
