Basketball Recap: Ontario Christian Picks Up 12th Consecutive Victory

Ontario Christian put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Lynwood, posting an 89-44 win. Given Ontario Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Lynwood is ranked 42nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Kaleena Smith, who dropped a double-double with 34 points and ten assists. The matchup was her 14th in a row with at least 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Jenkins, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Ontario Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Ontario Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Lynwood, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Ontario Christian and Riverdale Ridge will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Ravens have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Lynwood, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kenwood at 5:00 p.m. on the 26th.
