Basketball Recap: Fort Thomas Comes Up Short

Fort Thomas and The Gregory School squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Fort Thomas had to settle for second. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Gregory School Hawks. The Apaches lost against the Hawks in their previous head to head back in January of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 69-37 score last time.

The Gregory School was led to victory by Jackson Dickinson and Devin Dawson. Dickinson posted 21 points and five boards, while Dawson dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most rebounds Dawson has posted since back in December of 2024. Chase Butler was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Fort Thomas' loss dropped their record down to 22-12. As for The Gregory School, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-10.

Fort Thomas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for The Gregory School, they will challenge Seligman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Seligman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully The Gregory School likes a good challenge.
