Cardinal Spellman came out on top against Rockland on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Cardinals took their contest against the Bulldogs 7-3. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on Saturday, they had to take a 5-0 defeat.

Jason Cunningham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Cardinal Spellman let Tyler Alsen and Jaeden Azevedo run wild. Alsen went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Azevedo went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. That's the most hits Azevedo has posted since back in April. Colin Thornton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cardinal Spellman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Cardinal Spellman and bumps their season record up to 9-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Rockland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Coming up, Cardinal Spellman will host Southeastern RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockland, they will venture away from home to challenge Norwell at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
