Baseball Recap: Nipomo Triumphs

With a playoff win on the line, Nipomo rose to the challenge on Friday. They skirted past the Chowchilla Tribe 11-10. This was a revenge game for the Titans: when they faced off against the Tribe back in March, they had to take a 11-6 loss.

Travis Barr was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Groshart, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Nipomo now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Chowchilla, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Looking ahead, Nipomo will head out on the road to challenge Santa Ynez at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. Chowchilla does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
