It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hoggard ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the North Brunswick Scorpions, sneaking past 6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Christian Atkinson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ryan Bowden, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Hoggard's record now sits at 15-8. As for North Brunswick, they dropped their record down to 11-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Hoggard and North Brunswick should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Vikings (ranked 34th) will meet Ashley (ranked 250th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, North Brunswick will challenge Lumberton at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (96 vs. 309).
