Baseball Recap: Carrabec Comes Up Short

Carrabec extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 2-9. They fell 11-6 to the Buckfield Bucks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bucks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-10 back in April.

Colton Scheve made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with five stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Austin Sales, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

As for Buckfield, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly five runs.

On Buckfield's side, Colby Belanger made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. What's more, Belanger posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Breydan Ridlon was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Krosby Harvey was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Carrabec will venture away from home to square off against Richmond at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cobras will need to watch out since the Bobcats have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Buckfield, they will welcome Telstar at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rebels' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Bucks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
