Columbus is a perfect 10-0 against Sumter County since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Columbus hasn't scored more than two runs for six games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Columbus managed to slip by St. Anne-Pacelli the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Devils came up short against the Vikings on Monday, falling 9-0.

Columbus saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addi Hart, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Sumter County started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Shaw. They lost 14-5 to the Raiders on Tuesday.

Isis Snipes and Kamiyah Barron did some serious damage despite the final result: Snipes went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Barron got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Snipes has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Candace Pitts, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Sumter County's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Columbus took their victory against Sumter County in their previous meeting on September 11th by a conclusive 9-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
