Basketball Recap: Caitlin Subejano's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cosumnes Oaks over Franklin

Cosumnes Oaks was the 47-37 winner over Franklin when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack fell just short of the Franklin Wildcats by a score of 33-31 on Wednesday.

Several Wolfpack players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caitlin Subejano, who posted 21 points and four steals. Subejano is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Mendenhall, who scored seven points and ten boards.

Cosumnes Oaks has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 5-15.

Cosumnes Oaks wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-42 loss against Sheldon on the 31st. Franklin has also already played their next contest, a 52-51 defeat against Pleasant Grove on the 31st.
