The Windsor Academy Knights will head out on the road to take on the Gatewood Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eight must be Windsor Academy's lucky number: they beat Crisp Academy with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Knights beat the Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-5. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Blayne Bennett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Landon Harris was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three doubles, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Zach Parks also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Windsor Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Gatewood got the win against Westminster Christian Academy two weeks ago by a conclusive 13-6.

The team relied heavily on Wilson Moore, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Lawson Moore was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Gatewood has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Windsor Academy, their record now sits at 2-11.

Windsor Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Gatewood when the teams last played back in April of 2018, winning 7-3.
