Softball Recap: Gross Catholic Comes Up Short

Gross Catholic made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Wahoo, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.

Lauren Kosse made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Brynn Hofmann was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Gross Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Wahoo, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-5.

Coming up, Gross Catholic will venture away from home to square off against Skutt Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the SkyHawks have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matches. As for Wahoo, they will take on Bennington at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Badgers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
