Basketball Game Preview: Granada Hills Charter Highlanders vs. South Pasadena Tigers

Having just played yesterday, the Granada Hills Charter Highlanders will jump right back in to play the South Pasadena Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Granada Hills Charter is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Birmingham on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Granada Hills Charter was dealt a 69-42 defeat at the hands of Birmingham. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Patriots are ranked 56th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Pasadena). They breezed by Blair to the tune of 92-7 on Friday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

South Pasadena's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.3 points per game. As for Granada Hills Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
