Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Watterson Eagles vs. Olentangy Braves

The Bishop Watterson Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Olentangy Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop Watterson has nine straight wins, Olentangy has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Bishop Watterson duked it out with Big Walnut on Monday. The Eagles came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 5-2.

Max Steinbrunner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caden Mangini, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Ben Burleson was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Olentangy scored first but ultimately less than Hayes in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of the Pacers by a score of 8-7.

Bishop Watterson's victory bumped their record up to 22-3. As for Olentangy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.
