Baseball Recap: Westwood Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Terrell Academy, Westwood was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against Crisp Academy by a score of 12-7. Westwood hasn't had any issues with Crisp Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Sam Summerlin was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Roberts, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Summerlin wasn't the only one making solid contact: Westwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. Westwood is a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Westwood back to even at 6-6. As for Crisp Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Crisp Academy will host Windsor Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. Westwood will be paying especially close attention to Crisp Academy's contest: after Crisp Academy faces off against Windsor Academy, they'll take on Westwood again at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
