Softball Recap: Harris County Starts Season with Victory at Home

Harris County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Lee County Trojans. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row dating back to last season.

Harper Horton was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits she has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Miller Daniel, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lee County fell to 2-1.

Harris County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Perry on the 8th. As for Lee County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Schley County at 6:00 p.m.
