Basketball Recap: San Gorgonio Takes a Loss

San Gorgonio was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Grand Terrace Titans, falling 85-32. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1188th, while the Titans are ranked 297th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grand Terrace to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayla Duran, who went 7 for 11 en route to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Duran is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayleen Barajas, who posted 18 points and six steals.

San Gorgonio's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Grand Terrace, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

San Gorgonio has already played their next contest, a 37-33 defeat against Kaiser on the 29th. As for Grand Terrace, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-19 victory against Arroyo Valley on the 29th.
