Soccer Recap: Grant Park Victorious

After losing to Clifton Central the last time they met, Grant Park decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Dragons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Comets 2-1. Grant Park's winning goal came courtesy of Dirk VanDrunen.

Grant Park has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four matches. As for Clifton Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Grant Park will be taking part in a tournament against Fisher/Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Clifton Central, they will be playing at home against Iroquois West at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
