Preview: West Shamokin Wolves vs. Homer-Center Wildcats
The West Shamokin Wolves on the road again on Thursday and play against the Homer-Center Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, West Shamokin came up short against Marion Center and fell 56-44. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Shamokin in their matchups with Marion Center: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Homer-Center also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to River Valley by a score of 38-30. While losing is never fun, Homer-Center can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while River Valley is ranked 110th).
West Shamokin's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Homer-Center, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
West Shamokin came up short against Homer-Center when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 41-30. Can West Shamokin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
