Chamblee is a perfect 10-0 against Lakeside since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will take on the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. Chamblee is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Chamblee's last matchup with Dunwoody could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Bulldogs lost 14-6 to the Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered against the Wildcats since September 28, 2020.
Madison Jones was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Sadie Godwin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Lakeside came out on top against Galloway on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Vikings put the hurt on the Scots with a sharp 12-4 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Margo Peller-Morrison was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in August. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Conrad, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Macie Williamson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Lakeside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive games.
Lakeside pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chamblee, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
Lakeside's pitching crew better be locked in on Thursday. Chamblee hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. It's a different story for Lakeside, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Chamblee in the park?
Everything went Chamblee's way against Lakeside when the teams last played back in September, as Chamblee made off with a 12-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
