Soccer Recap: West Mesa Plays to a Tie

West Mesa came into Saturday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They and the Los Lunas Tigers finished up their contest with a 4-4 draw on Saturday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for West Mesa's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

West Mesa's draw gives them a new season record of 4-8-3. Meanwhile, Los Lunas' record is now 4-10-1.

West Mesa and Los Lunas could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings. The Mustangs will challenge Atrisco Heritage Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (#42 vs. #7). Meanwhile, Los Lunas (ranked 54th) will meet Rio Grande (ranked sixth) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
