Baseball Game Preview: Clarke Central Gladiators vs. Elbert County Blue Devils + Official Tickets

The Clarke Central Gladiators will head out on the road to face off against the Elbert County Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Clarke Central has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Clarke Central turned things around against Putnam County on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the War Eagles 4-3.

Kai Loudermilk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Clarke Central secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Oliver Siegmund, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Hudson Welter also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Meanwhile, Elbert County posted their closest victory since April 11, 2025 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lincoln County, sneaking past 6-4. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won six in a row.

Elbert County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Clarke Central, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Clarke Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Elbert County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Clarke Central got the 'W' in their previous matchup on Monday against Elbert County by a conclusive 9-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gladiators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
