Basketball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Taft suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They were dealt an 80-46 defeat at the hands of the Tehachapi Warriors. The Wildcats lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 72-66 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Taft lost, don't look at Nick Andrade. Despite the final result, he shot 50% from the field to rack up 24 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Andrade is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Issac Rhoten, who posted seven points and five boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Taft and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Tehachapi, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Taft has already played their next game, a 59-49 loss against Golden Valley on the 4th. As for Tehachapi, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-48 victory against Shafter on the 4th.
