Nebraska City dropped down to 10-5 on Thursday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Wahoo Warriors by a score of  7-6. If the Pioneers were looking for revenge after losing  6-2 to the Warriors when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
  Hanna Marth and  Rylie Beethe did some serious damage despite the final result:  Marth  went 3-for-4 with four  RBI, one  run,  and one  double, while  Beethe  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
As for Wahoo, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.3 runs over those games.
On Wahoo's side,  Emma Meyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. Meyer has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Addison Gregg was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted  over her last 11  matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of  Karryn Eddie, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Coming up, Nebraska City will venture away from home to  take on Beatrice  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Orangemen's pitching crew has only allowed four  runs per game  this season, so the Pioneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wahoo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Douglas County West  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcon have averaged an impressive 7.7  runs per game this season.
