Soccer Game Preview: Pleasant Grove vs. McClatchy

The Pleasant Grove Eagles will challenge the McClatchy Lions at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Pleasant Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They blew past Monterey Trail 4-1 two weeks ago. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 383rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pleasant Grove hit Monterey Trail with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lily Hatler, Adalynn Alley, Zaina Chaudhry, and Emma Buettner.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, McClatchy made sure to put some goals up on the board against Sheldon on Monday. They put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 6-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three contests by three goals or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Pleasant Grove and bumps their season record up to 3-1-1. As for McClatchy, their win bumped their record up to 5-2-1.
