Walnut Grove came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Early Panthers, falling 9-2. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

K Dougherty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Walnut Grove saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maeli Holman, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Walnut Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Early, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Walnut Grove is taking a road trip to face off against Macks Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Early, they will welcome Halfway at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
