Recap: Pacific Collegiate Pumas vs. St. Francis Sharks
The Pacific Collegiate Pumas lost against the St. Francis Sharks back in May of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pacific Collegiate took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Francis. Pacific Collegiate has not had much luck with St. Francis recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
St. Francis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emily Raich, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Aaliysah Gomez, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Pacific Collegiate has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for St. Francis, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pacific Collegiate will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for St. Francis, they will head out on the road to face off against Gonzales at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gonzales is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
