El Rancho had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-8 win over the San Gabriel Matadors. The Dons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

El Rancho's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carissa Basurto, who posted ten points and eight steals. That's the most points Basurto has posted since back in December of 2023. Emma Gonzalez was another key player, going 6 of 11 on her way to 13 points and four steals.

El Rancho's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 43 points. As for San Gabriel, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

El Rancho will take on Alta in a holiday battle at at 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday. El Rancho's defense has only allowed 26.3 points per game this season, so Alta's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for San Gabriel, they will venture away from home to challenge Temple City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Temple City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.
