Softball Recap: Liberty Extends Winning Streak to Three

Liberty waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans as they made off with a 9-1 win. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Selah Joiner made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Joiner was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Charlotte Riffle was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Grace Joiner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Liberty's record now sits at 11-12. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they will face off against Doherty at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.7 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
